Kořenec combines regional cultural history with folklore traditions, golfing opportunities, and winter sports in winter.

Culture

The Chapel of Our Lady of Fatima in Kořenec was consecrated on 15 May 1993. The Kořenec Municipal Museum presents a permanent exhibition on the life and work of the region’s ancestors. It also includes an exhibition of the Kořenecký folk costume and presents the history of the Kořeňák and Kořeňáček ethnographic ensembles, which preserve the municipality’s folklore traditions.

The Malá galerie Františka Řehořka gallery in Kořenec is accessible year-round by prior arrangement.

Folklore

The Kořeňák folklore ensemble was founded in 1948 and performs original local songs and dances at its performances. The Kořenecké Folklore Festival takes place every two years.

History

The Drahanovská cesta is a historical-technology trail built by the Swedes during the Thirty Years’ War, leading from Barborka to Kořenec.

Golf and Winter

The Kořenec golf course is located on the edge of the built-up area of Kořenec. It is an 18-hole championship course with a total area of approximately 60 hectares.

In winter, the Kořenec resort offers cross-country skiing with trails in the surrounding area totalling up to 60 km in length.
