Býkovice combines landscape, history and routes to create a diverse local character. The main features are the natural area around the Býkovka, historical landmarks and several signposted routes through the village.
Nature and Landscape
The Býkovka stream flows through the built-up area of Býkovice. The Na Ohrazdě pond, a distinctive artificial landscape feature, lies near the built-up area. The “Lysicko” Nature Park covers approximately the western half of the cadastral area of Býkovice and is intended to support individual recreation in nature. The Býkovka Valley is a significant landscape area within this nature park. “Čtvrtky za Bořím” is also of particular ecological value: the area is a particularly valuable habitat for rare orchid species.
History and Culture
Porčův mlýn, a historical monument open to the public, is located on the western edge of Býkovice. The mill was first mentioned in writing in 1526. Porčův mlýn offers guided tours with commentary as well as stylish refreshments in a restaurant with seating beside a pond. Býkovice is also home to the historic rural farmstead No. 62 and the Chapel of the Holy Trinity.
Paths and Routes
The “Údolím Býkovky” excursion route is 14 km long and classified as moderately difficult. It runs from Kozárov via Kunčina Ves and Býkovice to Černá Hora. Two cycle routes and a yellow-marked hiking trail called “Údolím Býkovky” also pass through Býkovice.
Public Transport
Bus route 313 serves Býkovice and operates via the “Býkovice, kaple” stop. It provides connections in the direction of Kuřim and Lysice.
