Suchy: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In Suchý, a 6-hectare expanse of water meets the extensive forests of the Drahany Highlands. Swimming is possible in the pond. The forests surround the village and offer views across the landscape, particularly to the west.

Nature, Trails and Water

The forests around Suchý are criss-crossed by marked cycle paths, which mostly run along paved roads. The Hradec Králové–Břeclav cycle route also passes through Suchý. The Žďárná–Skály–Suchý educational trail also ran through Suchý.

The terrain around Suchý is hilly and therefore more challenging. Mount Skály is located in the surrounding area. The mountains of Bučí and Skatulec are situated near Suchý; Mount Jedla is located in the wider region.

Sport and Information

The campsite has a new, high-quality court for tennis and nohejbal. It is in operation and must be reserved at the information centre. The Suchý Information Centre provides tourist information on cycling and ski routes, tourist attractions, trip tips, accommodation and catering establishments, as well as transport connections.

Culture and History

The Pomník obětem 1. a 2. světové války memorial and the Kaple Panny Marie Bolestné chapel are located in the area around Suchý. The Kostel sv. Petra a Pavla church is also located nearby. The Kuchlov ruins are located in the wider region around Suchý.

The name of the village, Suchý, is said to have originated from the resettlement of the inhabitants of the former glassmaking settlement of Benýška.
