Záboří U České Budějovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Záboří has a spacious village square. It is enclosed by three regular rows of farmsteads, whose gables face the square.

Villagescape

The village includes a valuable ensemble of agricultural farmsteads with granaries, most of which date from the mid-19th century. The barns are located on the outer edge of the settlement. The wooden farmsteads and cottages were gradually rebuilt in solid construction during the second half of the 19th century.

Building Fabric and History

The solid buildings in Záboří were erected on stone foundations dating from the 13th century. Thus, the villagescape combines older structural foundations with the solid construction that emerged later.

Points of Interest

To the east of Záboří, on the road towards České Budějovice, stands a small brick chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary. A stream flows through Záboří’s village square. Unique wayside shrines dating from 1852 arch over the stream. The comedy Babovřesky was also filmed in Záboří.
