Dubiken: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Dubiken, landscapes, views and traces of history exist side by side. Dlouhý vrch is 551 metres high and forms part of the gentle Lišovský práh ridge.

Landscape

The Dubičné lookout point is located on Dlouhý vrch. From there, views extend across the entire city of České Budějovice. The foot of Dlouhý vrch can be reached by car; from there, a direct footpath of approximately 500 metres leads to the lookout point.

Near Dubičné lies Borovanský vrch [Borovany-Dvorec u Třebče]. In the immediate vicinity are Výhon Hill [České Budějovice-Třebotovice] and Baba Hill [Jivno]. Trosky Mountain lies in the wider regional surroundings of Dubičné.

Activities

Paragliding is still practised on Dlouhý vrch. The ski slope on Dlouhý vrch is groomed with a snow groomer and is illuminated for evening skiing.

There are two ski lifts on Dlouhý vrch near Dubičné: a 71-metre-long children’s lift and a 340-metre-long main lift.

Culture and History

The village square in Dubičné is home to the Chapel of Saint Anthony and the Virgin Mary, built in 1834.

Remains of the historic water channel can still be seen in the Děkan and Prantlák forests near Dubičné. The David Mine was the largest of the local silver mines and was approximately 80 metres deep. The Terezina adit was driven into the wooded valley of the Vrátecký stream, formerly known as Tereziným údolím.
