Polzov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Polžov lies below Todeňská hora hill, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the village. A 3.5 km-long tour leads to this hill and includes the Oldřich Fencl lookout point. In 2017, a red-marked hiking trail was also designated in the Polžov settlement.

Landscape

In the Mokrý Lom–Polžov area, “Polžov – U Pašinovického potoka” is designated as a registered significant landscape feature. The “Stráž [Ločenice] outlook p.” hill is also located nearby. In the wider regional surroundings of Polžov lie Trosky Mountain and Zaječí Mountain.

Villagescape

The buildings have been preserved along the northern edge of the planned village square. Several agricultural farmsteads in Polžov are loosely scattered across the landscape. After the First World War, there were four adjoining farmsteads in Polžov; their plots had apparently been created by dividing the land into four parts.

History

Until 1387, Polžov belonged to the Lords of Velešín; it then passed to the Rosenbergs. In 1459, Jan of Rožmberk sold Polžov to Mikuláš of Holkov for 2 kopy and 48 groschen. In 1553, four residents lived in Polžov: Ambrož, Jakub Jírovec, Jan Mikeš and Linhart Mráz.
