Nedabyle: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nedabyle combines local history with marked trails and named landscape features. The village’s distinctive character lies both in individual historical monuments and in its location within the surrounding area, near and far.

History

The first written mention of Nedabyle dates from 1346. This record states that Havel, known as Kon of Nedabyle, donated the tithe from a manor farm in Nedabyle to the church in Střížov. In 1522, permission was granted to open a mine near Nedabyle.

In the Nedabyle cadastral area, Panský Les contains a Bronze Age and Hallstatt-period burial mound field protected as an immovable cultural monument, with four visible, excavated burial mounds.

Houses Nos. 11 and 55 in Nedabyle form a farm complex arranged with their gables facing the street. It comprises a residential building on the left and a retirement house on the right; between the residential sections is a farm building with a passageway and two gates.

Landscape

Since 2016, the yellow-marked Vidov–Hůrka hiking trail has run through Nedabyle and its cadastral area. The registered landscape feature Lipová alej Nedabyle lies in the northeastern part of the municipality on the road to Doubravice.

Borovanský vrch (Borovany-Dvorec u Třebče), classified as a mountain, lies in the vicinity of Nedabyle. In the wider regional surroundings of Nedabyle are Trosky and Skalka, both classified as mountains. Chlumek (Nová Ves u Českých Budějovic), classified as a hill, is located nearby.

Getting Around

Nedabyle’s location on the České Budějovice–Trhové Sviny/Nové Hrady route provides bus connections, primarily to České Budějovice.

To reach the Nová Ves–Hůrka viewpoint, drive through Nedabyle and, in the next village, Nová Ves, turn left after the petrol station.
