Landscape and Water

Neznašov is situated above the confluence of the Vltava and Lužnice rivers. The Kořensko waterworks is located on the Vltava near Neznašov, about 5 kilometres west of Týn nad Vltavou. It comprises a run-of-river power plant with two horizontal Kaplan turbine units and an installed capacity of 2 × 1.9 MW, as well as a lock chamber.

Culture and History

The Jewish cemetery in Neznašov is located in the cadastral area of Všemyslice near Kukle Forest. There are around 250 gravestones in the cemetery; most date from the 19th century, predominantly from its second half.

The Chapel of St Anne is located at the mouth of the Bohunický stream, at the confluence of the Vltava and Lužnice rivers.

Trails and Viewpoints

The “Za neznašovským kohoutem” educational trail is an approximately 5.5-kilometre circular route around Neznašov with 12 information boards about cultural, natural and technical attractions. It begins in the village square of Neznašov and includes a rocky viewpoint overlooking the confluence of the Lužnice and Vltava rivers.

The Vysoký Kamýk lookout tower stands on the 627-metre-high summit of Vysoký Kamýk and is 33 metres high; the entire tower reaches 46 metres. Access to the lookout tower begins at the edge of the forest near Všeteč and follows a green-marked hiking trail to the tower. The observation platform of the Vysoký Kamýk lookout tower was opened to the public on 1 May 2012.
