Vidov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Cycle route 1018, a branch of the Vltavská cyklistická cesta cycle path, runs through Vidov. South of Vidov, the České Budějovice Basin ends and the Novohrad Foothills begin; the landscape rises there and becomes more varied.
Landscape and trails
A blue hiking trail can be reached from Vidov, connecting to a green trail. The section of cycle route 1018 between České Budějovice and Cetviny is considered moderately difficult.
Sports and recreation
The freely accessible sports area in Vidov offers a children's playground with a carousel, swings, climbing equipment, a sandbox and a rope pyramid. There is also a workout area and outdoor fitness equipment.
The area also includes football, nohejbal, volleyball and beach volleyball courts. Nohejbal requires its own net, while the volleyball net is permanently set up.
Local transport
MHD line 10 serves two stops in Vidov: V Domkách and Návsi. Návsi is also the terminus of line 10.
Culture and village life
The recurring Zelnobraní is a cultural event in Vidov. It takes place all day in the sports area and on the village square; the date is usually at the end of September and may extend into early October. The festival includes a craft market, cabbage specialities, as well as the traditional sale of shredded cabbage and sauerkraut.
The “Komunitní knihovna Vidov” library has been operating since autumn 2022 and holds talks on various topics. During the summer months, visitors can use the outdoor terrace of Hospůdka Na návsi and the associated children's playground beneath the chestnut tree.
