Culture and history
The Kaplička Podolí chapel is a local landmark in Ratibořské Hory and the surrounding area. Podolí was formerly an independent estate and is considered the cradle of the Čáslav family from Podolí. In 1526, King Ludvík Jagellonský granted the Měděnec brothers from Ratibořice and Podolí the right to mine, prospect and grant mining concessions within a radius of half a mile around Ratibořice.
Geographical location
The original historic buildings of Podolí are located north of road II/137 and around the Podolský rybník pond. Below the Podolský rybník pond, Podolí No. 8 was home to the Podolí mill, also known as Kadeřávkův mlýn, with a sawmill. The mill and sawmill were powered by three overshot water wheels. After the war, it resumed operation on 1 June 1947; on 1 February 1951, it ceased operation due to the miller's illness. A footbridge crosses the Podolský potok stream, which flows into the Podolský rybník pond; previously, a stone bridge stood at this location.
