Oberhaid: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

The Church of Saint Michael the Archangel in Horní Dvořiště combines two notable dates: it was first mentioned in 1252 and completed in 1511.

A memorial to the soldiers from Horní Dvořiště who fell in the First World War stands in the market square. Another memorial site is the official mass grave in Horní Dvořiště, which contains the remains of fourteen victims of the death-train transport.

The Stations of the Cross in Horní Dvořiště also dates back further in its history: the first devotional service took place in 1910. The newly restored Stations of the Cross was consecrated in 2013.

Landscape and Trails

The southern Via Czechia route leads into the Horní Vyšebrodsko Nature Park. The mountains Sternstein and Hirschenstein are located in the vicinity of Horní Dvořiště; Aubühel is a mountain in the nearby area. In the wider surrounding region, there are also Viehberg as a mountain, Rosenhof Castle and Breitenstein Castle, Lobenstein Castle Ruins, and Bühlerkreuz as a wayside shrine.

No tickets are sold at Horní Dvořiště railway station; passengers purchase their tickets on the train.
