Rosenberg (Rožmberk nad Vltavou) lies in the Vltava Valley. The town combines a significant castle history with preserved traces of Jewish tradition, historic buildings, nearby nature and water sports opportunities on the Vltava.
Culture
Rožmberk Castle dates back to the mid-13th century and is one of the oldest castles of the Vítkovci. The main castle tour introduces the Buquoy family, who owned Rožmberk Castle from 1620 until the end of the Second World War. Its present appearance is the result of a renovation in the Romantic Gothic style.
The Jakobínka Tower is the only surviving remnant of the former Upper Rožmberk Castle. The climb up nearly 170 steps offers views of the entire Rožmberk double castle complex and the surrounding landscape. The tower is accessible exclusively as part of a guided tour.
The first written mention of St. Nicholas Church in Rožmberk dates back to 1271. The church is a Late Gothic building from the second half of the 15th century, built on older foundations. Remains of the 14th-century town fortifications have also been preserved in the southern part of Rožmberk nad Vltavou.
The Old Jewish Cemetery is a preserved testament to the Jewish settlement and the last reminder of the long-standing Jewish tradition directly in Rožmberk nad Vltavou. Around 24 gravestones have been preserved in the cemetery; the oldest dates from the mid-18th century.

The Dolní Jílovice Nature Reserve, with remnants of a natural beech-fir forest, lies near Rožmberk nad Vltavou.
