Nature and Landscape

The Provázková louka natural monument protects wet meadows with protected plant species such as the broad-leaved marsh orchid (Dactylorhiza majalis), the Siberian iris (Iris sibirica) and the rosemary willow (Salix rosmarinifolia), as well as protected insect species such as the speedwell checkered fritillary. Provázková louka is part of the Blanský les Protected Landscape Area.

The catchment area of the Borová stream near Chvalšiny was revitalized in 1998 and 2000. The revitalized Borová stream has a natural, meandering bed with pools and accompanying vegetation.

The Borovská alej is a protected tree monument in the cadastral area of Borová u Chvalšin. It is a mixed avenue with 62 English oaks and offers a view of the valley.

Cycling and Culture

Cycling excursion no. IV, “Velká jedle na Bulovém”, begins at the car park at the Nová Hospoda stop in Rohy. It reaches the beginning of the Borovská alej in the settlement of Borovští Uhlíři; after passing through the avenue, it returns to the starting car park.

In the settlement of Borovští Uhlíři, the chapel bears an inscription with the year 1833.

Surroundings

The Chlumany landform is registered as an ancient site and is located in the vicinity of Borová. The mountains of Kleť, Břevniště, Chlum and Skalka are also located nearby.
