Bradáčov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Polánka Nature Park extends partly across the cadastral areas of Bradáčov and Horní Světlá u Bradáčova and covers 15.6 km². Its forest complexes Batkovy and Domamyšlský les form its core; at the same time, the nature park also extends into the administrative area of Bradáčov. It serves to preserve the landscape character of an extensive forest complex with water bodies, as well as significant natural and aesthetic values.

Nature and Landscape

Southwest of Bradáčov lie the Bradáčovské mokřady wetlands in the valley of the Novomlýnský potok. They include heavily waterlogged, peat-forming meadows with cottongrass, somewhat drier thistle meadows, and hillside spring areas. The wetland is also home to wetland plants and the critically endangered butterfly hnědásek rozrazilový.

The mountain (K Doubravě) [Radenín-Bítov] and Vrchy mountain lie in the vicinity of Bradáčov. The hill of Úlehle [Rodná - Nahořany u Mladé Vožice] is located nearby. In the wider regional area are Velký Blaník mountain, the Church of Svatá Anna, Želivský Kláštor Monastery, and the Loreta Church.

Sacred Sites and History

The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas in Bradáčov was built in 1925 after the original chapel had been demolished; 13,000 Kčs were spent on the new construction. On 28 September 1993, it was reconsecrated by Bishop Antonín Liška from České Budějovice. The Church of Svatý Jan is also located in the vicinity of Bradáčov. The chapel in Horní Světlá is considered a sacred monument.

Routes and Events

The route of the Praha–Prčice March runs along the municipality of Bradáčov. The annual Zlatá šlapka cycling race passes through Bradáčov and ends in Šebířov. The Svatováclavská pouť pilgrimage festival is also held annually in Bradáčov.
