Turovec: Holiday apartments and houses

Nature

Southwest of Turovec lies the Luční National Nature Monument on the embankment of Luční Pond in the upper pond system. It is protected because of the unique occurrence of numerous important thermophilic fungal species, particularly boletes. These grow in symbiosis with the trees on the pond embankment. The oldest trees on the Luční embankment are oaks approximately 300 years old.

Culture and History

Kepkův dub is more than 400 years old and is one of the monuments of the municipality of Turovec. The road bridge in Turovec is also part of the local landscape—a massive, single-arch stone structure built partly of bricks.

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk stands in Turovec's village square. It is dated 1803.

Geographical Setting

The K Doubravě mountain [Radenín-Bítov] is located in the immediate vicinity of Turovec. The surrounding area also includes Hora mountain, the Church of Saint Anne, and Podstupský vrch mountain. Further afield in the region are Tlučin mountain and the Church of Saint John.

Turovec has bus connections to Tábor, Choustník, and Radenín.
