The history of Zhoř u Tábora is closely connected with the nearby Sedlec fortress. Near the remains of the fortress, an old cart track leads towards the former ramparts. Zhoř u Tábora was also owned by the Vladik Vlček ze Sedlce at some point between 1293 and 1322.

A notable historic religious building is the Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It was completed in spring 1890 and consecrated on 24 August 1890. The chapel stands on the site of a demolished wooden hut belonging to Jakub. In 1995, it underwent a single major structural alteration; its character has been preserved to this day.
