Vilice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The cadastral area of Vilice features a highly valuable landscape character with varied terrain. Between Husí hora and Vilice lies a system of three ponds: Velký Vilický rybník, Vilecký rybník and rybník Biřička, also known as Prvák, Druhák and Třeťák. The Vilický potok flows from this pond system and subsequently joins the Blanice.

Nature and Bodies of Water

In the vicinity of Vilice near Hrnčíře lies Hadce u Hrnčíř, one of three sites in the Czech Republic where the species kuřička hadcová (Minuartia smejkalii) is found. The landscape thus combines varied terrain, a named pond system and a special botanical site in the nearby area.

Culture and History

In the vicinity of Vilice lies the Jewish cemetery east of the road from Elbančice to Vilice. There is also a Jewish cemetery near Běleč, in the vicinity of Vilice, which was established before 1723 and preserves around 180 gravestones, including Baroque and Neoclassical gravestones. This cemetery is freely accessible.

The Kříženec fortified site is an archaeological site with a particularly high density of finds. The site of a former fortress on the Salt Road is one of the most important landscape and architectural assets of Vilice. Kříženec was a water fortress with an irregular octagonal ground plan. Remains of the ponds, wetlands and dams that protected access to Kříženec fortress are still visible in the surrounding area.

Hrnčíře is also part of the traditional local history: historically, potters produced stoneware pots there.

Local tourist routes pass through Vilice. Cycling route 1178 connects Miličín and Načeradec.
