Tučapy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Tučapy reveals itself through tangible traces of construction and history. Tučapy Chateau is notable for its three turrets with circular floor plans. The Church of St. James the Elder was consecrated in 1352 and burned down in 1719. It contains historic tombstones of the Dvořecký, Obytecký and Bloewenstein families; their members were former owners of the fortress.

Culture and History

In Tučapy, the Chapel of St. Wenceslas stands opposite House No. 6 near the petrol station. A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on the village square by the bus stop. It bears the coats of arms of the Malovec and Obytecký families and dates from the late 18th century. A cross by the church stands on the site of the former old cemetery. The brewery in Tučapy was built in 1804 by Prosper Berchtold from Uherčice.

The Jewish cemetery of Tučapy was probably established around 1713 on the southern bank of the Černovický potok at the western end of the southern Jewish quarter. The Tučapy synagogue was built in 1779 in the northern Jewish quarter and rebuilt after a fire in 1867. The northwestern façade and entrance portal of the former synagogue have been preserved; the portal is now bricked up.

Nature

The Rybník Pokoj pond, with its safety overflow and outflowing stream, lies on the eastern edge of Tučapy and forms a valuable landscape-defining feature of the municipality. The mountains of Hora, Hůrka, Podstupský vrch and Cihadlo lie in the surroundings of Tučapy.
