Budislav: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Budislav narrow-gauge railway is a volunteer-run forest railway project in the woods near Budislav in the Tábor District. The railway has a track gauge of 450 millimetres and occasionally organises public events offering the opportunity to take a ride.

Nature and Water

At 560 metres above sea level, Budislavská hora is the highest point in the cadastral area of Budislav. The landscape also includes Zámecký rybník with its island, fed by the Černovický potok, as well as the stream itself, which flows through Budislav. The ponds and forests around Budislav are rich in mushrooms and bilberries.

From Budislav, there are numerous opportunities for walks in the direction of Červená Lhota Castle.

History and Monuments

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was renovated in 1741 by Jan Václav Count Caretto of Millesimo and received a newly built church tower. It is registered as an immovable cultural monument in the central list of immovable cultural monuments. Inside, there are ten gravestones with inscriptions that are illegible today.

Budislav Chateau stands on the site of a former vladycká fortress, which was rebuilt in 1754. A mill had already stood below the pond dam and in the immediate vicinity of the chateau in Budislav in the 1670s. Today, only a massive corner of the wall remains as a reminder of the mill building.
