Vochov combines visible local history with remarkable finds and traditional routes. The Chapel of Saint Anne dates from 1820. The Vochov Venus takes us even further back: it is considered the first anthropomorphic figurine from the Neolithic period found in Bohemia, and so far the only fully preserved figurine of its kind from the Czech lands outside Moravia. Its original can be seen in the prehistoric exhibition at the West Bohemian Museum in Pilsen.

Culture and History

The town's industrial past is also among its distinctive traces. The brickworks in Vochov was founded in 1830 by Prince Lobkowicz. The Lobkowicz brickworks was known for high-quality bricks, which were used for buildings, chimneys and durable paving.

The Semler factory began by manufacturing nails and subsequently developed into a wire factory. Under the SEM brand, it mainly produced gramophone needles. The Semler factory was also home to a research group from Závod jaderných elektráren, which worked on developing a school reactor intended to become the smallest in the world.

Routes and Surroundings

The Mže River flows in the vicinity of Vochov. In the town itself, the Vochov historical educational trail has 10 stations. For cyclists, Cycle Route No. 37 continues to Vochov after passing through Křimice.

Vochov is also connected with the Svatovojtěšský trojúhelník. This involved pedestrians and cyclists travelling from the railway station in Křimice via Hornička to Vochov. The routes were 6, 10 or 15 kilometres long; some participants continued as far as the Cross of Saint Adalbert on the boundary between the cadastral territories of Vochov and Kozolupy.

Festivals and Historical Traces

Vochovské dožínky is an annual harvest festival in Vochov. In 2025, it took place on Saturday, 13 September, from 3:00 p.m. on the grounds near the municipal office.

The base of the Cross of Saint Adalbert was moved back to its original location by the Okrašlovací spolek Vochov in April 2022 and used for a new installation. Another historical trace is the Maskovaná milenka, a decoy of the Škoda Works in Pilsen. It covered an area of approximately 100 hectares between Vochov and Vejprnice and was intended to deceive Allied forces during air raids.
