Pnovany: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Pňovany combines historical landmarks with the landscape around the Hracholusky Reservoir. The Pňovanský Bridge illustrates this particularly well: it is a railway bridge over the reservoir on the line from Pňovany to Bezdružice. Construction began in 1899 and was fully completed in 1901. When the valley was flooded by the Hracholusky Reservoir in 1963, the height of the bridge was reduced to 37 metres.

Culture and History

The Chapel of St. Anne Samotřetí in Pňovany has existed since the Gothic period. The Chapel of St. Anne is a branch church of the Nýřany parish. After 14 years of restoration work, it was reopened and solemnly consecrated on 19 October 2019. The St. Anne pilgrimage is one of the traditional events in Pňovany.

Among Pňovany’s sights is a Baroque château from the mid-18th century. The château in Pňovany was declared a cultural monument in 1958 and again in 1964.

The Jewish cemetery in Pňovany is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. It is located in a forest south of Pňovany, on the other side of the Hracholuský Stream. The ruins of Buben Castle are also among the historical points of interest; they are freely accessible.

Trails and Water

The nature trail is 7.4 km long. The area around the Hracholusky Reservoir is frequently used for hiking and cycling. Boat trips are also offered on the Hracholusky Reservoir.

The Hracholusky Reservoir can be reached via Pňovany railway station; from there, continue on foot or by bicycle.
