Nové Mitrovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nové Mitrovice is home to the Baroque Church of St. John of Nepomuk, “kostel sv. Jana Nepomuckého”. It was built between 1722 and 1726 and is attributed to Jakub Auguston the Younger. It is listed in the heritage register under number 19154 /4-402.

Culture and History

The historical surroundings include Hradiště Kokšín in Mítov, an important archaeological site in the area of the municipalities of Nové Mitrovice and Spálené Poříčí. The site has a stone rampart; the best-preserved southern section is approximately 80 metres long, while the total circumference of the fortification is more than 400 metres.

Mítov is known for a preserved mill with its original interior furnishings and for folk architecture. The Mítov water mill has a log house dating from the late 18th century and furnishings from the 19th century. Since 22 September 1995, Mítov has been protected as a village heritage zone. Josef Linda, a writer, dramatist and journalist, is also associated with Nové Mitrovice.

The statue of Panna Maria Svatohorská is a Baroque sculpture dated 1760 that was restored in 1921.

Nové Mitrovice is located in the Southern Brdy Mountains. Approximately 200-year-old beech trees grow in the Kokšín Nature Reserve.
