Kasejovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kasejovice is connected to the Way of St James and is part of the Jewish Route in the Pilsen Region. The townscape brings together sacred architecture, Jewish history, railway tradition and the town’s urban past.

Culture and History

The Kasejovice Museum is housed in the building of the former Jewish synagogue. The synagogue itself is a late Baroque building that was probably erected in the second half of the 18th century in the centre of the Jewish ghetto.

At its main entrance, the Church of St James preserves a richly moulded Gothic stepped portal with two engaged columns. Its construction is dated to around 1270. The Jewish cemetery also reaches far back into the town’s history: the earliest written mention dates from 1669. A total of 510 gravestones have been preserved, the oldest dating from 1686.

The historic townscape also includes the town hall and Kasejovice Square. The town hall is a Renaissance building that was remodelled into its present form in 1868 after several fires. A Baroque fountain stands in the centre of the square.

Railway and Exhibitions

Kasejovice railway station is located on railway line 192 Nepomuk–Blatná and is integrated into the integrated transport system. The history of the railway can be seen in the former railway water tower, which houses a permanent exhibition with ten panels on the history of the Nepomuk–Blatná railway line. The former railway water tower was declared a technical monument in 2020.

Another permanent exhibition is located in Kasejovice’s granary. It covers the history of the town during the imperial era, in the time of Masaryk and during the Protectorate.
