Nezdřev: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The wayside shrine Boží muka, built in 1692, is the oldest surviving and dated architectural monument in Nezdřev; it was consecrated in honor and glory of Saint Andrew.

Culture and history

The Chapel of St. Joseph was built in 1892 on the larger village green of Nezdřev. A commemorative plaque on its façade bears the names of men born in Nezdřev who lost their lives in the First World War from 1914 to 1918.

An archaeological find is also part of the local history: in 1950, a grave containing three vessels was discovered at Na Pláňovech in the Nezdřev area. These included a vessel containing a cremation burial, as well as iron and bronze objects.

Nature and landscape

Nezdřev lies on a slightly uneven slope facing east. The cadastral area also contains Strašil, a 21.12-hectare flow-through pond on the Hradišťský potok stream. It lies at an elevation of 503 m, 1 km northeast of Bezděkov, and is considered the deepest pond in the Blatná area, with a depth of 4 m, or 13 m at the dam.

The Nezdřev area includes a medieval pond system as a higher-level component of the Blatná pond system, which lies mainly on tributaries of the Lomnice. Its ponds form valuable aquatic and wetland biotopes that are particularly important for plants, mollusks, and birds.

Hiking and cycling

The yellow-marked hiking route TT 6716 passes through Nezdřev and connects Pačejov railway station, Kvášňovice, Defurovy Lažany, Nová Ves, Nezdřev, Bezděkov, Pole, and Velký Pálenec.

The Tour de Oblouk cycling tour took place for the first time in 1987; it was later moved to the first weekend in July. Participants start in Nezdřev, ride through approximately ten villages, and return to Nezdřev.
