Řenče combines local history and pilgrimage traditions with scenic and cultural sites.

Culture and History

The Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Řenče was built between 1869 and 1878 in the Neo-Romanesque style. The organ in this church is also scheduled for restoration because experts consider it to be highly valuable.

The fortress in Řenče was later converted into a granary. The former fortress is registered in Řenče as an immovable cultural monument and an archaeological site. Of the originally three-winged Renaissance structure, two wings and a fragment of the courtyard wall remained after the conversion.

The preserved traditional buildings in Řenče also include a well-maintained log house with a stone enclosure around the courtyard. Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral is a church in the wider regional area surrounding Řenče.

Pilgrimage and Trails

Since 2006, the Volunteer Fire Brigade of Řenče has held pilgrimage days at the sports complex in Řenče. Pilgrim masses in honour of Saints Cyril and Methodius were held in Řenče on 5 July 2023 and 5 July 2026.

The viewing platform of Rozhledna Kožich in the area surrounding Řenče is 20 metres above the ground. Kožich is a station on the Čertovo břemeno educational trail in the area surrounding Řenče. The annual night hike “Putování za Bílou paní Řenečskou” ends at Knížská skála in the area surrounding Řenče.
