Culture and Settlement

The Chapel of Saint Anne in Louňová belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Blovice. In the southern part of the cadastral area of Louňová lies the abandoned settlement of Vrtěšice, with a prehistoric burial mound field from a later period. Iron finds predominate there; the area is classified as an archaeological site (ÚAN I).

The characteristic historic settlement form of Louňová includes farmsteads with a residential section facing the public space and an agricultural section arranged around the courtyard. Farmsteads whose original form has been preserved are considered the most valuable element of Louňová’s settlement structure. A pilgrimage mass in honour of Saint Anne was announced to take place in the chapel in Louňová on 30 July 2023.

Nature along the Přešínský Stream

The Přešínský stream flows through the central part of Louňová from east to west. A narrow line of alders runs along it, expanding below the outdoor swimming pool into a beautiful alder swamp forest; ash trees also grow on the left bank. The Přešínský stream area is home to a stable population of noble crayfish; its age structure indicates regular and successful reproduction.

Leisure and Cycle Route

The 9 km-long cycle route 2149 runs through Železný Újezd, Louňová and Žďár. Louňová offers an outdoor swimming pool and other sports facilities for leisure activities.

Mount Nad Moráskem lies in the surroundings of Louňová. In the wider regional vicinity of Louňová are the “Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral” church and the mountains of Štěrbina, Radyně and Praha.
