Sezemice Nad Loučnou: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The octagonal bell tower in Sezemice is unique in Bohemia in this form and size. In the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, one of the oldest and most important monuments in the region, the oldest brickwork dates from the first half of the 13th century.

Culture and History

The oldest surviving residential building is House No. 92 on Husovo náměstí. Its gable is designed in the 18th-century peasant Baroque style. The Chapel of Our Lady at the cemetery was built in 1902 at the highest point in Sezemice.

The nearby Velký semínský Aqueduct was built in 1892 as part of the Pardubice pond system.

Nature

Mlynářova louka meadow near the former mill lies between the Loučná watercourse and the millrace and is considered a natural oasis of peace and quiet.

Within the territory of the city of Sezemice, near the village of Veská, lies the Vesecký kopec natural monument at an altitude of 238 m above sea level. It is considered the largest sand dune in the Czech Republic and is home to several protected beetle species.

Paths and Leisure

From Sezemice, easy hikes and cycling trips are possible on newly built paths and cycle paths.

In 2014, tourist information boards were installed around the aqueduct, at the confluence of Zadní Lodrantka and the Loučná, along the cycle path beside the Loučná, and on the banks of the Loučná. They provide information about the surrounding nature, the history of the aqueduct, and the city's sights.

Mlynářka Sports and Recreation Park was created in the centre of Sezemice between the Loučná and its millrace, Mlýnský potok. The park has paved paths, benches, waste bins, and partial public lighting. There is also an outdoor fitness and parkour area with a tartan surface. When there is frost, a natural ice rink is set up in part of Mlynářka Park near the millrace, where skaters of all ages can skate.
