Ostřetín: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Vinice hill reaches 329 m above sea level and is the second-highest point in the cadastral area of Ostřetín. In clear weather, Vinice offers views across a large part of eastern Bohemia.

Landscape

Na Hradcích reaches 335 m above sea level and is the highest point in the Pardubice District; the hill lies in the cadastral area of Ostřetín. Below the marl slope of Javůrka is a well fed by a plentiful spring.

Baths were established at the spring near Javůrka. Around 1900, the baths were renovated and expanded; following this renovation and expansion, they became a popular excursion destination for residents of Holice and Ostřetín.

Culture and History

The present-day Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in Ostřetín was built in 1781 after the earlier wooden church burned down in 1758. The church was mentioned as early as 1350 under the name Hostětín. On 30 December 1987, it was entered in the state register of cultural monuments.

A two-day battle between Austrian and Prussian troops took place on Chmelnice hill on 12 and 13 July 1758. The Pomník Obětem Sedmileté války monument stands in Ostřetín between Ostřetín and Horní Roveň. An educational trail with five information panels about the battle runs around Ostřetín.

Leisure

International youth music camps are held annually in V Kluči. The Rekreační zařízení Radost leisure centre in V Kluči operates year-round.
