Landscape

Jankovice is located approximately 4 kilometres southwest of Přelouč, below the Železné hory. A stream rising above Seník flows through Jankovice, continues past Kozašice and empties into the Elbe.

History

The land register of this estate mentions a miller named Jiřík in Jankovice in 1494. The “KŘÍŽEK-JANKOVICE” cross was erected in 1878. In commemoration of 28 October 1918, lime trees were planted in all three districts of Jankovice – Jankovice, Kozašice and Seník.

Culture

The “Jankovický mlýn” mill is located in the eastern part of Jankovice on the right bank of the Senický potok. The agricultural museum in Jankovice was founded by a father and son from the Štajner family and contains old agricultural machinery.

Routes

Road III/33810 connects Přelouč, Jankovice and Litošice. The “Na Míčov přes Jankovice” cycling route also passes through Jankovice.

Water

It was possible to swim in the pond in the Seník district of Jankovice; fishing was also permitted there. There was also a boat rental service at the same pond.
