Plch: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The history of Plch began at a drained pond: the village was founded at this location in 1777. Later, Plch was rebuilt at its present location and laid out as a settlement with two rows, after the houses, which had previously been built predominantly of wood and covered with straw, had been demolished. The name Plch is associated with an inheritable tenant named Plch and the meadows known as “Plchové olšiny”. The historical development also includes the road connection built in 1846 from Plch to neighboring Staré Ždánice and thus to the so-called Hradec Road, the road from Přelouč to Hradec Králové.

Villagescape and Water

Plch consists of a single road approximately 700 meters long. A dam running from Dolany to Osice still serves as a reminder of the former pond in Plch; water flowed through it from Plch toward Dolany. Plch also had a drainage ditch known as the “plchovský odpad”; a basin was created in a second depression.

Events

Several times a year, entertainment events are held at the municipally owned local pub under the auspices of local organizations. A joint New Year's walk with sausage roasting was announced in Plch for January 1, 2023. A traditional gathering of witches and wizards was announced for April 30, 2024; refreshments were planned for this witches' gathering. Visits by the Three Kings with traditional singing were announced in Plch for January 6, 2024, and a visit by the Three Kings for January 6, 2025.

New, partially adapted traditional courses were prepared for the 20th edition of the CZECHMAN Triathlon in 2026. As part of the CZECHMAN Triathlon 2026, a road closure was scheduled for June 6, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; on Road No. 32316, it extended as far as the turnoff to Plch.
