Stražisko: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Stražisko lies in a narrow valley carved by the Romže River, which winds its way here between the peaks of the Drahany Highlands. The most prominent hill near Stražisko rises to 385 metres directly above the Romže and the road running alongside it.

Culture and History

In the centre of Stražisko stands the Church of the Guardian Angels, built in 1728 on the site of the former Grünberg Castle. Part of the moat and rampart, as well as small fragments of the masonry of the outer bailey, have survived from Grünberg Castle.

The Stations of the Cross in Stražisko were built in 1854. They consist of 14 larger masonry niche chapels containing paintings on sheet metal by the Prostějov painter Josef Vyjídáček, who was a bricklayer by profession. A Lourdes grotto was added to the Stations of the Cross in 1895. The Church of the Guardian Angels and the Stations of the Cross are protected as immovable cultural monuments of the Czech Republic; the Stations of the Cross are protected together with the Church of the Guardian Angels as an immovable cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

The Chapel of Saint Gotthard stands in the centre of Stražisko's Růžov district. It is a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. Stražisko also includes the Zátiší villa colony and other Art Nouveau villas. The surviving buildings, richly decorated with carvings, date from around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

The traditional Hody festivities in Stražisko include a Hody exhibition prepared by the women of Stražisko.

Leisure

An outdoor swimming pool with a 50-metre pool was built in Stražisko in 1973; the outdoor pool was completely reconstructed in 2011. Sports events take place on its grounds.

The Romže Cycle Path was completed in 2025. It connects Konice with Stražisko and continues from Stražisko via Ptenský Dvorek, Ptení, Bělecký Mlýn and Kostelec na Hané to Prostějov. The Romže Cycle Path improves access to Stražisko for cyclists and hikers.
