Paseka: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Between the municipality of Paseka and the medieval Sovinec Castle lies the Makču Pikču Arboretum. It features rock gardens, ponds with ornamental fish, an artificial canyon, and numerous plants from around the world.

Nature

At the Pasecké Waterfalls, the Teplička stream cascades over several rock steps; the waterfall has a total height of around five metres. The waterfalls are located at the end of Paseka, where the Hornomoravský úval valley transitions into the deeply incised Pasecký žleb gorge. A viewing pavilion stands directly above the rapids at the Pasecké Waterfalls.

Below the Paseka sanatorium lies an extensive landscaped park with remarkable tree species. The landscaped park and the chapel below the Paseka sanatorium are open to everyone at all times and are used for walks and recreation.

Activities

The Paseka natural swimming biotope and its snack bar operate during the summer season. Paseka Skatepark is a reinforced-concrete facility covering approximately 600 m², with ramps, stairs, a shallow bowl, as well as boxes and rails.

An official 17-kilometre hiking route leads from Šternberk via Řídeč and Paseka to Karlov and Sovinec Castle.

Culture

The Chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Paseka is a modern block-built structure for sacred purposes, constructed between 1914 and 1917. The oldest part of the present-day Parish Church of St Kunhuta is the core of its prismatic tower, which dates from the Late Gothic period.

Visitors can visit the forest chapel in Paseka independently; a key can be borrowed in the eighth department. Since the previous year, Mass has regularly been celebrated there on 14 September, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
