Hněvotín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hněvotín combines a compact historic town centre with sacred architecture, a diverse sports complex and dedicated cycling connections. As a result, different facets come together directly in the town: traditional Haná architecture, Baroque furnishings and opportunities for exercise.

Townscape and Culture

The historic centre of Hněvotín is compact and clearly defined. Its rows of Haná buildings include agricultural farmsteads and shape the townscape. The Church of St Leonard stands in the centre. During a public event, visitors were able to see the nave, the rounded presbytery and the church’s rich Baroque furnishings.

Another sacred building is the Chapel of Our Lady in Hněvotín. Built in 1870, the structure is a Neo-Romanesque open pillar glori ette with a statue of the Virgin Mary. The chapel also contains an Immaculata statue dating from 1755. Since 1958, the chapel has been an immovable cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

Several other cultural and memorial sites are located around Hněvotín: the Church of St Michael, the Memorial to the Victims of the First World War, the Statue of St John of Nepomuk and the Church of Our Lady of the Snows.

Activities

The 2.035-kilometre Hněvotín–Lutín cycle path runs alongside the busy II/570 road. At the same time, the cycle path enables cyclists to travel more comfortably and safely. More than 90 per cent of its route lies in the cadastral area of Hněvotín.

The Hněvotín Sports Complex includes football pitches, three tennis courts, a beach volleyball court, volleyball and nohejbal courts, a floodlit multi-purpose court and a sports track with a tartan surface.

In the wider regional surroundings of Hněvotín lies Horka Hill. Čechovy sady Park is located nearby. The Na Vyhlídce hill [Hněvotín] and Vyhlídka Hněvotín hill [Hněvotín] are also in the immediate vicinity.
