Tovéř: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Tovéř lies at the foot of the Nízký Jeseník between Olomouc and Šternberk, 8 km northeast of Olomouc city centre and below the basilica on Svatý Kopeček. The first documented mention of the village dates from around 1203.

History and Villagescape

Farmstead No. 11 in Tovéř is a remarkable example of the original local building style. At House No. 11, there is a sandstone arcade with nine arches.

The Chapel of Saint Cyril and Methodius on the village square in Tovéř dates from 1844. It was illuminated; its surroundings were given a granite cobblestone surface and new furnishings. A stone wayside cross in Tovéř dates from 1862.

Village Life

The Tovéřské hody festival traditionally takes place every year on 5 July, the feast day of Saint Cyril and Methodius. In the “Za Humny” locality, OÁZA klidu has been a freely accessible area for people who like animals since 2021.

Paths and Nature

A regular and heavily used IDSOK bus service of the Integrated Transport System of the Olomouc Region connects Tovéř with the regional capital.

Cycle Route No. 6102 leads from Bělkovice via Dolany, Toveř and Samotišky to Svatý Kopeček, passing through Toveř along the way.

In the CIHELNA biocentre, the creation of a quiet zone for recreation and walks in nature began in 2022.
