Suchonice: Apartments and Holiday Homes

Suchonice is located in the Tršická pahorkatina foothills, below Příhon Hill. The village combines a distinctive landscape setting with a historically shaped village structure and a history dating back to its first written mention in 1303.

Geographical Setting

The built-up area of Suchonice lies in the Tršická pahorkatina below Příhon Hill. The Kopřivnice stream rises in the village. Gardens and hop fields together account for around 3% of the area of the Suchonice cadastral district.

Suchonice has a non-orthogonal village structure with a spindle-shaped village green. The historic buildings have been preserved with very little alteration. The newer development is spatially separated from the compact historic structure, with the exception of two houses in historic gardens around the village center.

History and Culture

The Church of Saint Wenceslas was built in 1928–1929 and consecrated by Archbishop Leopold Prečan on October 6, 1929. It is considered the most important landmark in Suchonice.

A chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary, dating from the second half of the 18th century, stands by the road on the southeastern edge of Suchonice.

Paths and Transport

A major cycling route passes through Suchonice. Interesting hiking trails can be accessed from Suchonice.

Arriva Morava a.s. operates public bus services on the “Olomouc–Nelešovice–Tršice” and “Přerov–Kokory–Tršice, Lipňany” routes.
