Příkazy: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Příkazy has a medieval street plan and a significant ensemble of folk architecture with residential and farm buildings made of clay, masonry and wood dating from the 17th to the 19th century.

Culture

The Chapel of Sts Cyril and Methodius is dedicated to the Slavic apostles of the faith and also serves as a memorial to the victims of the world wars. Architecturally, it resembles a Romanesque rotunda with two apses. The sculptor Julius Pelikán and the painters Jano Kőhler and Eduard Milén contributed to its artistic design.

The ensemble of folk architecture in Příkazy also includes buildings relocated here from the surrounding area or reconstructed. The Hanácké muzeum v přírodě in Příkazy, also known as the Haná open-air museum, is a unique example of clay architecture in Haná. The well-preserved complex includes orchards, three unique stable barns with framed façades, and a replica.

Visit

The tour of Kameníčkův grunt includes the residential and farm sections of the Haná farmhouse from 1876, the adjacent gardens, and the stable barns with framed façades. A guided tour of Kameníčkův grunt presents the history of the municipality as well as everyday life on a Haná farmhouse in the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. The tour also includes an exhibition of historic agricultural machinery and equipment.

The Hanácké muzeum v přírodě programme for 2026 includes the “HANÁCKÉ VELIKONOCE” event, featuring traditional Easter customs and traditions from Haná, egg decorating, the weaving of Tatars, the baking of Jidáše, and Easter games for children.

Visitors can use a special map from the Hanácké muzeum v přírodě to walk through Příkazy and see selected points of interest in the village. The visitor route through Příkazy also leads to Haná farmhouses made of fired and unfired bricks.

Getting there

The Hanácké muzeum v přírodě can be reached by train via Příkazy railway station on the Drahanovice/Senice–Příkazy–Olomouc route.
