Geographical location

The railway line 310 from Olomouc to Opava runs near Domašov nad Bystřicí along the Bystřice valley.

Nature

Kamenné proudy u Domašova is a natural monument protecting fossil geomorphological formations from the last Ice Age. Frost cliffs, block fields and block streams formed there as a result of frost action during the last Ice Age. The natural monument is located in the Údolí Bystřice Nature Park.

Culture and history

The Church of St Anne in Domašov nad Bystřicí is a single-nave, longitudinally oriented building with a polygonal chancel and a hipped roof. On the central axis of its façade, it has a prismatic tower with a bulbous roof, finial and cross at the top.

The Černý kříž monument was erected in 1858 to mark the centenary of the Prussian-Austrian Battle of Domašov. It commemorates the rescue of Olomouc by the troops of General Laudon, who defeated Prussian troops in 1758 as they were transporting supplies from Opava to Olomouc.

Trails

The Údolím Bystřice educational trail runs between Domašov nad Bystřicí and Hrubá Voda railway stations along the Olomouc–Opava railway line. It follows field and forest paths suitable for hiking and is partly suitable for mountain biking. On the 13.1-kilometre route, which is open year-round, the educational trail presents the history of the deeply cut valley of the Bystřice River, as well as its natural values and features.

Malý Rabštýn is an approximately 40-metre-high rock face with 28 secured climbing routes. It lies on the blue-marked hiking trail between Domašov nad Bystřicí and Jívová; the Údolím Bystřice educational trail also passes by the rock.
