Těšetice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Church and local history
In the center of the village of Těšetice stands the Kostel sv. Petra a Pavla church. It is considered a prominent landmark of the municipality and is also a point of interest along the Olomouc–Náměšť na Hané route. Its tower is 35 meters high and was added to the church in 1741. On the western side, next to the staircase leading to it, there is a Calvary group dating from 1868.
The first written mention of Těšetice dates from 1078. The medieval and modern-era village center is designated as an area with archaeological finds. The Rataje district is also part of the historic village landscape: it was declared a heritage zone in 1995. Protected features include the preserved urban structure of a Haná village, with covered courtyards and barns standing at the ends of the gardens.
Tradition and distilling
Local celebrations include the Těšetické hody, held for the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul. They include a mass and refreshments in front of the church.
Distilling is also connected with specific Těšetice references. TŌSH Whisky is distilled and bottled in Těšetice and matures in centuries-old cellars directly beneath the distillery. The brand’s first successful distillation, King Barley, took place in Těšetice at the end of 1973.
