Bílá Lhota: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Bílá Lhota lies in the floodplain of the Morava River, characterised by meadows and floodplain forests. The Hrabůvka stream flows through Bílá Lhota and the arboretum before joining the Morava.

Nature and landscape

The Bílá Lhota Arboretum is a national nature monument on a south-facing slope and covers just under three hectares. The grounds contain around 300 different species and cultivars of woody plants.

The Bílá Lhota Nature Monument is located in the attic of a church in the cadastral area of Bílá Lhota and protects a habitat of greater mouse-eared bats (Myotis myotis). Bílá Lhota is also home to a very important summer colony of greater mouse-eared bats (Myotis myotis).

In the immediate vicinity of Bílá Lhota are Třesín [Bílá Lhota-Měník], a hill, Rachava [Bouzov-Kovářov], a hill, and Mlýnský vrch [Bílá Lhota-Řimice], a hill.

Culture and local history

The park was opened to the public in 1968 under the name Arboretum in Bílé Lhotě.

The Zemědělská expozice Agricultural Exhibition includes a carriage from the early 20th century and a Burco machine for making straw ropes. It also features herb beds with several dozen medicinal plants and a large sandbox for children.

“Velikonoce v Arboretu” is an annual Easter event featuring willow-wand weaving, children’s workshops, archery, birds of prey and sheep.

The Church of St Catherine in Bílá Lhota is listed as a protected monument of the municipality. Bílá Lhota Chateau is a local monument dating from the early 19th century.

Routes and destinations in the area

The regional cycling circuit “Od hradu do podzemí – z Bouzova do jeskyní” follows Cycle Route 512 through Podolí and Hrabí to Bílá Lhota. The Jesenec–Bouzov–Bílá Lhota tourist route is 22.5 km long, moderately difficult and has an elevation gain of 305 metres.
