Nová Hradečná: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Near Nová Hradečná, Bradlo rises to an elevation of 600 metres and is the highest point of the Úsovská vrchovina. From its panoramic viewpoint, Bradlo offers views of Hrubý Jeseník, Králický Sněžník and the Hornomoravský úval. The eight-kilometre Bradlo educational trail leads through the landscape of the landmark Bradlo, from Nová Hradečná over the Bradlo summit to Libina. Along its route, the educational trail features play panels, information panels and wooden animals.

Culture and History

The Church of St Lawrence in Nová Hradečná was completed in 1764. It contains historic Baroque organs from the pilgrimage church on Svatý Kopeček near Olomouc. The church and cemetery are surrounded by a wall that is itself a cultural monument. Two sandstone gravestones of Schwarzenberg uhlans are set into the wall at the northern gate.

The rectory in Nová Hradečná is a registered immovable cultural monument. It was built between 1764 and 1768 by the then lord of the manor, Prince Josef Václav Vavřinec of Liechtenstein.

The Chapel of St Anthony of Padua in Hradec stands on the outskirts of Nová Hradečná and was extended with a small chancel in 1895. The Chapel of St Anthony was part of a pilgrimage route held regularly on 13 June; a Mass is celebrated in the chapel around the feast day of St Anthony.

Historical Traces

Traces of an old hillfort have survived to this day in the cadastral area of Nová Hradečná.

A Gothic manuscript of the Roman Missal from 1420 contains historical notes by former parish priests.

Traditions and Events

Novohradečanský kotlík is a traditional local event where visitors can sample goulash cooked in a cauldron. Svatovavřinecká pouť took place in Nová Hradečná on 9 August 2024 and 8 August 2025.
