Strukov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Strukov lies in a lowland region on drained ponds. The Teplička stream flows through Strukov and forms the western boundary of the village.

Nature and Trails

Tree-lined avenues border the country lanes leading from Strukov far into the surrounding area. Visitors can rest at the Strukov Biocenter by the pond.

Village Centre and Townscape

A statue of the Virgin Mary stands in the centre of Strukov. The bell tower in Strukov is a defining feature of the village square. It is a four-sided structure with plain façades, a hipped roof and a cross at the top of the roof.

The distinctive streetscape in Strukov, where small cottages alternate with somewhat larger farmsteads, is known as “Zlatá ulička”.

Culture and Remembrance

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Strukov was extensively restored in 2003. Strukov’s Hody are held regularly on the Sunday closest to 16 May, the feast day of Saint John of Nepomuk. They include an outdoor church service, a procession through the village and a folk festival afterwards.

A memorial plaque is located on house no. 7 in Strukov, the birthplace of František Hrubý.

Walking and Cycling

Strukov has a bus stop but no railway stop. The “Cyklostezka Strukov a Žerotín” project concerns a designated transport connection for cyclists or associated cycling infrastructure that has been newly built, modernised or reconstructed.
