Stepanov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Štěpánov is a linear settlement approximately 5 km long in the flat landscape of Haná. Its townscape combines a widely extended settlement structure with protected landscapes and a diverse cultural history.

Landscape

The southern, southeastern and western parts of the municipality of Štěpánov lie within the Litovelské Pomoraví Protected Landscape Area.

History and Culture

A workers’ housing settlement with 20 houses documents the living conditions of the working class in the mid-19th century. The Workers’ Association House No. 267 is also listed as a cultural heritage site in Štěpánov. The town is also home to a stone group of statues depicting the Holy Trinity, dating from 1812.

A niche chapel with two reconciliation crosses from the 16th to 17th centuries stands on Nádražní Street.

Events

Štěpánov’s cinema hosts film and theatre performances, lectures and travel events. During the school holidays, the open-air cinema screens films on the grounds of the breeders’ association.

Štěpánov’s folklore includes the traditional Hody festival dedicated to Saint Lawrence. The deconsecrated Church of St Barbara is used for weddings and declarations of entry into a registered partnership; the venue designated for the ceremony can be visited by prior arrangement.

Getting There and Routes

Štěpánov railway station is located on railway line 270. The station building is accessible without barriers. The main section of the cycle path connecting Olomouc with Štěpánov is 3.7 km long.
