Daskabát: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The earthworks of Zámčisko Fortress consist of a fortified Motte-type settlement with a central mound measuring approximately 10 × 14 metres, a shallow ditch, a rampart and an outer ditch. The fortress is listed in the State Register of Immovable Cultural Monuments; on the edge of Boří Forest in the Zámčisko cadastral area, it contains archaeological traces and remains. The earthworks are partly covered by coniferous forest and shrubs. Historically valuable remains of Sedlec Fortress can also be found at Zámčisko.
Landscape
Daskabát lies on the last foothills of the Oderské vrchy hills. Forest covers one fifth of Daskabát’s cadastral area and is therefore an integral part of the local landscape.
Archaeology and History
At the U Slaného archaeological site, an elongated oval plateau and part of the rampart of a medieval fortress, whose date has not yet been determined more precisely, have been preserved in the terrain. U Slaného Fortress is listed in the State Register of Immovable Cultural Monuments in Daskabát. At the fortress in the U Slaného cadastral area northwest of Daskabát, archaeological traces and remains of the fortress have been preserved.
The disappeared village of Otěhřiby, which preceded present-day Daskabát, was first mentioned in 1232. Otěhřiby Fortress was first mentioned in 1447; remains of the fortress have been preserved in Daskabát. The village of Sedlec was first mentioned in 1359.
Local Culture
The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk on the village square in Daskabát is designated as a monument of local significance. The chapel dates from 1909.
Cycle Paths and Sport
Daskabát’s sports complex is located in the village centre and adjoins the newly built Přáslavice–Velký Újezd cycle path. The complex offers tennis facilities. Cycle Route No. 6265 runs from Velká Bystřice via Přáslavice and Daskabát to Tršice.
