Norberčany is situated in a predominantly forested and agricultural landscape in the foothills of the Nízký Jeseník.

The Bystřice Valley Nature Park combines the protection of the landscape character with natural, aesthetic and scenic values, as well as recreational functions.

In the vicinity of Norberčany lies Stráž, a mountain; the surrounding area of Norberčany also contains a mountain called Stráž. The nearby area also includes Vildštejn, a ruin. The surroundings of Norberčany additionally contain Slunečná, a mountain, and Skalice, a mountain.

History and Culture

The establishment of Norberčany is closely connected with the colonization of the Střelná forest by Hradisko Monastery in the 13th century. Norberčany was first mentioned in writing in 1456; in the document of Bishop Bohuslav ze Zvole, the settlement appears under the name Nirrenberg.

In the Trhavice district of Norberčany stands the Chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in the valley of the Libavský potok at the foot of Pekelný vrch. A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands in the southern part of the chapel's former cemetery. To the left of the chapel entrance there is also a metal plaque with porcelain medallions depicting residents of the local community who fell in the First World War.

The Czech-German Memorial stands in Norberčany on the site of a church that no longer exists.
