Loučany: Vacation Apartments and Holiday Homes
Loučany lies in the gently undulating plain of Haná and in the floodplain of the Šumice stream. The stream flows through the built-up part of Loučany; its course is partially regulated and lined with riverside and accompanying greenery. On the right bank of the Šumice near the Otruba farmstead lies a wetland and aquatic biotope with pools, woody plantings, and reed beds, serving as a functional part of the “Haná” biocenter.
Culture and Local History
The Chapel of St. Florian and St. Isidore is Loučany’s defining landmark and dates from 1724. On the road to Těšetice stands a stone column with a statue of Saint Florian from 1818; it is a registered immovable cultural monument. The village center is also part of an area with documented or reasonably suspected archaeological finds.
Cultural Center and Events
The large hall with a stage in the Loučany Cultural Center is now about 100 years old. The cultural center hosts balls, children’s carnivals, concerts, Christmas events, and performances by schoolchildren.
