The surroundings of Senice na Hané are characterised by the attractive Hana Plain. The first hills of the Drahany Highlands begin west of Senice na Hané.

Church and History

The Church of St Mary Magdalene in Senice na Hané is a valuable Baroque building dating from 1704–1705 with an older Renaissance tower. At the same time, it is a cultural monument with an original Gothic layout and a tower from the 15th century. The fact that the tower does not stand on the axis of the church building is visible in the entrance area.

The oldest written mention of the church in Senice na Hané is found in the necrology of the Olomouc Chapter under the year 1333. The painting of Saint Mary Magdalene for the church’s main altar was created in 1794 by the Olomouc painter Josef Pilz.

Further examples of religious art include the Ecce Homo statue in Senice na Hané from 1827 and the statue of Saint Giles, a Baroque sandstone sculpture from the 1730s by Ondřej Zahner. A medieval reconciliation cross stands in Senice na Hané on the road to Hliník, a former brickworks.

Sport and Transport

The multifunctional sports hall has playing areas for handball, floorball, tennis and volleyball, with one central field and three cross-fields separated by nets, as well as areas for basketball, three badminton courts, nohejbal and small-sided football (futsal). The municipality of Senice na Hané offers the multifunctional sports hall for public rental.

Senice na Hané railway station provides passenger services for domestic transport, including seat reservations.

Trails and Events

The Eliška of Kunštát educational trail begins in Senice na Hané. The parish church feast of St Mary Magdalene takes place on a Sunday close to 22 July.
