Dolany: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
At Kartouzka, medieval monastic history and more recent religious art come together directly. There, Dolany preserves the remains of a medieval Carthusian monastery dating from 1388–1425 and an associated Hussite fortification. Visible are the remains of the stone church walls, cloisters and individual cells.
Culture and history
A Stations of the Cross was also created at Kartouzka in Dolany in spring 2021. Children from the Miroslav Stibor Primary School of Arts in Dolany took part in creating the ceramic reliefs under the direction of Helena Lisá; fathers built the crosses together with children from the local parish.
Several different structures form part of the historic townscape. Dolany Castle and its surrounding park are a significant early Baroque complex dating from 1667. The Parish Church of St Matthew is a single-nave late Baroque building dating from 1776–1785. The Dolany parish house, a valuable part of the parish church complex, dates from 1829–1835. The parish garden also contains an altan, an Oriental-style structure dating from 1844.
