Hlušovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hlušovice is the first stop on the cycle route from Olomouc to Šternberk; there, the route leads to a pond in the village centre. A second pond reveals another detail of the village: willows grow there, and a water goblin figure stands on an island.

Nature and Leisure

The municipal sports grounds in the centre of Hlušovice include a tennis court. They can be rented via an online reservation form.

Maják Hlušovice is a leisure area on the Hvězdná cycle path (Olomouc–Šternberk), featuring a restaurant in a replica naval ship, a stylish Captain Club and a lighthouse.

Culture and History

The Neo-Gothic Church of St Peter and Paul in Hlušovice was completed in 1926. It is still in use and belongs to the Bohuňovice parish.

On the road to Dolany stands a Baroque wayside shrine with a triangular ground plan that is over 200 years old. Another wayside shrine was erected in 1795 in memory of a severe hailstorm.

Events

Letní kino Hlušovice was held in 2024 and 2026 as an open-air cinema at the municipality’s sports ground, with refreshments available.

At the Drakiáda in Hlušovice on 7 October 2023, there was communal kite flying, inflatables for children, a dragon trail, workshops and a puppet theatre. The Gulášfest in Hlušovice on 7 October 2023 featured goulash tastings, the selection of a winner and a raffle.
