Komárov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Nature and Trails
From Komárovský kopec hill, with its cross dating from 1833, there are views of Haná, Nízký Jeseník and the Zábřežská vrchovina hills. On the hill there is a covered gazebo with benches and a table where visitors can rest during walks and outings. There is also an information board and a summit book near the gazebo.
The Komárovská stezka pro děti is an easy trail aimed primarily at families with children. Its theme changes throughout the year according to the seasons. The route leads from the retirement home through a new cherry avenue to a fire pit with seating beneath a small wooded area, continues along a biocorridor and ends at the chapel. Five stations with interchangeable panels encourage children to learn about nature, reflect and engage in light exercise. A children's playground in the grounds of Domov seniorů Komárov is open to the public.
Culture and History
The Chapel of the Virgin Mary was built at the end of the 19th century along the path used by the inhabitants of Komárov to reach the church in Mladějovice. After a long period of disuse, it was reconsecrated in 2005. The historic stone cross dating from 1823, together with the chapel and a lime tree, forms the historic centre of Komárov village square.
The first explicit written mention of Komárov dates from 1412/1413. The settlement was established during one of the final phases of settlement in the Šternberk area at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries.
Festivals
The Komárovský výšlap is a recurring spring hiking event: the second edition took place in 2025 and the third in 2026. At Komárovský výšlap 2026, there was a shorter group walk through the surrounding area. The Komárovské hody is a traditional local festival; the 2025 edition was the 20th edition.
Cycling
The 30 km cycling route Do hlubin věků leads from Mladějovice via Komárov to Řídeč. It first combines a flat section with a steep ascent and a long, steep descent. The route runs along paved roads and unpaved forest tracks and is suitable for experienced touring cyclists.
Railway and Hiking Trails
A railway station on the line to Šumperk and Olomouc is located about 500 metres away, between Komárov and Mladějovice. From Mladějovice railway station, the yellow- and blue-marked hiking trails run together towards Komárov and Řídeč.
