Zbyslavice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Zbyslavice lies in an inhabited valley between the Sezina and Polančice streams in the Oder catchment area. Forests and meadows shape the landscape, crossed by hiking and cycling trails.

Nature and Trails

The Zbyslavice Educational Trail comprises three trails created since 2016 in cooperation with the primary and nursery school in Zbyslavice.

The pond area on the Dolní louky meadows comprises a wetland retention basin, a water basin and two wetland ponds.

The Dolní louky Educational Trail is slightly more than one kilometre long and follows an easy route, making it suitable for all age groups. Twelve information panels focus on local plants and animals, including legally protected species.

Cycling Route and Connections

Cycling Route 6191 runs from Bravantice via Olbramice and Zbyslavice to the Setina Valley. It passes a windmill and runs through wooded areas.

Bus route 679 connects Zbyslavice with Klimkovice, Vřesina and Ostrava.

Culture and Local Life

The former Zbyslavice fortress stood about 300 metres south of the village centre on a rise above the Sezina valley. Part of the former moat has been preserved in the northern area of the site. There are no visible wall remains at the fortress; the uneven terrain suggests the presence of former historic structures.

The Chapel of St Matthew has been extensively reconstructed. The small square by the chapel still served as a small village centre after the war.

The Větrný mlýn na Vrchpolí windmill is a Dutch-type windmill. It stands on the cadastral boundary of the municipalities of Zbyslavice and Olbramice and is privately owned.

In Zbyslavice, the Den obce takes place in mid-September every year.

The local Zbyslavice library offers Wi-Fi, computers, new books for children and adults, and an interlibrary loan system operating across the region.
